And an ideal climiate. Like Africa or South America.
They import them from Africa and South America.
Alot comes from Central America as that was were it was first grown, Mexico,South America, Africa and even Malaysia.
Like coffee certain area produce a better or different quality, they are now growing organic, that is mainly in regards to the process of deseeding the pods, fermenting the coating off the nibs, and then the drying of the beans to then send them to processing.
Like wine and coffee, there are certain varietys and more prefered areas to be from, but essentially there the same plant, Europeans prefer the darker bitter-sweet chocolate and American’s prefer the sweeter gooier milk chocolate, even though studies have found that dark chocolate has better health qualitys, as a chef years ago I always prefered Belgian or Swiss products
