If art is all about metaphor, then this is indeed a very depressing clip. Yes, the bunny has no feelings, as it is chocolate, but the metaphor/message I get from the vid is sad, hopeless, and depressing. I’m going to pet my cat now.
OH MY GOD. Seriously? It’s CHOCOLATE, people!!
Yeah.
Guys. It’s chocolate. It’s not a bunny, and it’s not alive. It’s just a fun chocolate candy shaped like an animal. Calm down.
I, personally do not experience empathy in food, whatever it’s shape.
If your theory is true, then nobody would eat these Rabbit shaped chocolate objects, so they would be out of production within a month of production, unless people were buying them to look at?
@ mutigmorzine
Because they have empathy. Vampahery, there, described really well what it is to experience empathy.
It’s the same faculty that makes chocolate bunnies cute in the first place.
The same faculty that makes us able to imagine making chocolate bunnies.
In fact, it’s the faculty that makes it possible for us, omnivores that we are, to conceive of medium-size rodents as “bunnies”.
It makes it possible for humans toput up with kids, even each other’s kids.
It makes society possible :)
Haha why are people upset or affected by this? I think it’s a clever concept though, just a waste of chocolate…
Is it bad that I was pretty much crying? The poor little bunnies.
This video is really depressing, seeing those bunnies fall apart. The music just amplifies the creepiness of the whole thing, it makes you feel like you’re watching a horror movie about melting bunnies.
It’s just creepy D:
But I do like the song.
Bunnies thoughts at 1:50: oh how comfy!
Bunnies thoughts at 1:55: Ok…it’s starting to get a little hot now
Bunnies thoughts at 2:00: Something is horribly wrong here!
Bunnies thoughts at 2:25: I’m sorry for anything i’ve ever done!
wow… i kinda feel suicidal now!! i feel very sad after watching that bunny melt to a big mess when once it brought happiness to kids and fat peopple everywhere!
watch this and play sweet dreams by eurithmics at the same time. The original is depressing, but with sweet dreams is hilarious as hell.
Hes melting chocolate bunnys – i fail to see any moral behind this other than im hungry.
how sad :’(
thats fucking deep, i love it.
Noooooo!
The chocolate bunny!
The thing that’s disturbing and melancholy about this to me is that the bunny is inanimate, yet is anthropromorphisized in such a way that it appears sentient. Since it appears sentient due to its rendering, it seems utterly helpless and transfixed in the face of its slow, agonizing demise. The casual attitude with which it is destroyed also contributes to how disconcerting and saddening it is. We KNOW it isn’t alive, but we can equate what it’s experiencing on some level to what a person would.
the movie is called Palindromes, this song is by nathan larson- aviva’s pastoral.
FANTASTIC !!
as far as I know this short and other shorts were made for little (pre school) children. These were showed to them in a theater and when they saw this one lots of children had to cry. I was told the creator made this to point us at the cruelty of children but I cant exactly remember what they told us in class -_- Heck, children are cruel.. It’s weird actually, they eat chocolate bunnies without hesitation but when it comes to melting them they get sad :P (understandable but hypocritical)
la musique est vraiment bonne.
I liked it dutch children programs are good…well most of them
but i have a question I also heard this song in a movie called aviva but does anyoine know what the name of this song is
Uhmm… PRESCHOOL art project? Does anyone else find this fact disturbing?
Animal Cruelty.
the part? … they melt chocolate bunnies the whole video…
