Maltese Muffin is a reference to the movie title “The Maltese Falcon” most of the episode titles are plays on famous titles, and many of the recipe names. I.E. The art of darkness = the Heart of Darkness, the book that Apocalypse Now is based on.

Why does he call it a ‘Maltese Muffin’? I’m Maltese and it’s definatly not maltese food!! Looks great though!
