Besides, just because your music taste is hipster doesn’t mean you are. I like Animal Collective, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, and Port Blue; I’ve only been to one concert in my life and I hate all social networking. I am not a hipster. Neither are you. ¿Tu comprendo?

Well you clearly saw the one show where that occurred. They are the most hipster thing ever. Pitchfork loves them. Irony loves them. Nietzsche loves them. They’re hipster.
I’ve been to a couple AC concerts and I didn’t see too many hipsters (A word that a lot of people seem to have very different definitions for), actually there was quite the assortment of different types. AC dresses kinda 90′s-ish and their music is pretty unique. But I guess I should just except my hipster musical taste… *rolls eyes*

Animal Collective, the band and fans of the band, are massively hipster. Just accept that your musical taste is completely hipster and be fine with it. That’s what I’ve done and it really didn’t hurt all that much.
Agreed. I felt a similar feeling when I first saw this video. Have you seen it live though? I have to say in the past 8 months, the five times I’ve seen them this has been the best opening song. It’s quite powerful. I really wish I could re live Terminal 5 just for this song.

I enjoy this version and its mellow(er) contrast with the original version, but the original version is too goddamned amazing to deny. Panda’s percussion in particular is part of what makes the song, and it is absent here.
